Welcome to MainStreet Wilmington!
Main
Street Wilmington is a nonprofit partnership created to improve the
central business district of Wilmington, Delaware using the Main Street
“Four Point Approach”.
Main Street Wilmington was
spearheaded in 2006 by Wilmington Mayor James Baker as a partnership
between Downtown Visions, Wilmington Renaissance Corporation, the
Downtown Business Association, the City's Office of Economic
Development and Wilmington City Council.
Since the initial “Steering Committee” meetings Main Street Wilmington
has grown to include a board of directors and four volunteer driven
committees with participation from a variety of stakeholders in the
downtown and has been recognized as a National Main Street program for
meeting the ten standards of performance set forth by the National
Trust for Historic Preservation.
